If the government eradicates both POVERTY & UNEMPLOYEMENT, where would the politicians go? They need to struggle for their employment. So, they always play safe by keeping those two alive all the time!

Because these social ills are curses of capitalism. Capitalism creates a class of labor which is bought and sold when needed and only for as long as is necessary. This class has no significant wealth or other means of earning income. It is at the mercy of the capitalist organization of production. Furthermore the capitalist economy is subject to booms and busts. Upswings and downswings are an integral part of the capital accumulation process. When labor is not needed there will be unemployment and poverty since labor has no other income or wealth to live on. Even when there is a boom not all labor will be employed and we have grown to accept the concept of the "natural rate of unemployment" as if it were somehow ordained. So long as there is capitalism there will be unemployment and poverty.

Poverty problem doesn't rest on the government alone. If people don't have the initiative to be financially independent by being depressed, having low self-confidence, etc, then poverty will still persist.
Unemployment is also the same. If people continue to be choosy with what job to take, then unemployment will still persist.
The best system in the world won't work because everyone will take it for granted.

Because there is always people that won't help themselves and are lazy. In Western Australia at the moment there are hundreds of jobs that are unable to be filled because people find it easier to live off benefits. Some people are unable to be helped. I worked hard at McDonalds for 6 years as a teenager to be able to buy a house by the time I turned 21. Its not the governments job to hold peoples hands all the way through life. If I could get a house off a maccas wage by age 21, then anyone else should be able to do it. How hard is it to get a job at maccas? Just walk off from the street.

Opportunity and wealth don't grow on trees. But most politicians (especially conservatives) think they do. Consequently, social structures are erected by them that protect the maldistributed wealth and opportunity of the rich and powerful at the expense of the masses.

Some people simply refuse to work or learn.
A few people are incapable of working.
If there was no unemployment at all, where would you get employees if you wanted to expand your business, or if one of your workers retired or died?
Even the Bible says, the 'needy' will always be with you.
