I shave my legs once every other day. I usually shave in the shower with mild water, not hot. But I take REALLY long showers though... I use a shave gel and a sharp razor. But my legs are SO terribly dry and I used to scratch the hell out of them, but I've stopped and starting using lotions. On the second day of not shaving my legs literally feel like sandpaper and they tingle and itch like crazy. Lotion helps but my legs are NEVER silky smooth and feel comfortable. In the shower my legs have little reddish/purplish bumps on where the hair follicles are. I just want to know how I can shave differently to make the overall look and feel of my legs better, and any products that work well. Tips please!

before i was allowed to shave i would steal my moms razor and use lotion to shave my legs before and after. it worked really well. then i realized its a lot faster in the shower. but i still do both.
first i would use a cheap kind like suave because it almost felt watered down then i would use Nivea. my legs were sooo smooth after that.

Strictly speaking shaving shouldn't cause dry skin. You can get razor burn from shaving dry, which you really shouldn't do. Always make sure that the skin is lubricated before shaving with a regular razor and use a soothing lotion afterwards. Also make sure the razor is new and sharp and not blunt as this will drag the skin and can cause infections. If you shave with a battery or electric shaver make sure the heads are not worn and similarly moisturise after.

first off, youre hair is probably pretty coarse, no?? you have to shave with the grain (the direction it grows) because you are getting ingrown hars and its causing the itch. I do it all the time and never learn my lesson. And use conditioner on ur legs. SERIOUSLY. It leaves them sooo smooth after you shave. once you are all dried off mosturise mosturise!!! just slab on lotion till you cant anymore, let ur legs soak it up!!!

I get this sometimes.

You have to moisturise every time you shave, or you'll get white scratchy bits all over your legs.

The Body shop do a gorgeous rich cocoa body butter.

exfoliate once they arent itchy with a scrub.. use a shea/cocoa butter lotion its most forgiving.
