Abstinence forever or before marriage???
Abstinence forever, no. Abstinence before marraige, yes. Life would be simpler, less stressful for young people. They would not have to wonder if they are pregnant, have an STD, or HIV. Some cultures preach this, but the truth is far from it. I know, I have lived in the strictest culture of all. And found that they are just hyprocrites!!!

my culture is the subculture of America. I call it a realist.

I have no stake of abstinence. I find it absolutely rediculous for myself to practice. I know what I like and abstinence is not it. I won't make fun of or redicule someone else for wanting to abstain, but I know that my relationships require sex. Something about taking the car for a test drive before buying it.

Don't get me wrong I'm not stupid about it all. I realize dangers and such and I take the proper precautions. But I honestly can not be abstenent. My biology, and my beliefs (pagan) don't allow it in my mind.

I speak about my own culture (traditional, Jewish).

We do not believe in abstinence from sex. However, we believe that sex should be in marriage only. Sex is considered to be something natural, good and holy within a marriage framework.

Well... some people think it's a good thing because it helps people to concentrate on important things.
Some people think it's a good thing because it helps preventing aids.
Some people think it's a bad thing because mankind must propagate.
Some people think it's a bad thing because sex is a natural thing and people will not come into their own by abstinence.
