Fitzroy is the new name for Finisterre. It is adjacent to the Brittany peninsula.

Admiral Robert Fitzroy noted readings of abnormal weather conditions as he sailed round the world. He could be considered the "father" of meteorology.

One of his missions, on the Beagle, lasting a couple of years included Charles Darwin as a passenger. Darwin's observations of slight differences in species on ever separating islands in the Galapagos archipelago formed the basis for his theory of evolution.

That would be FitzRoy, named after the founder of the Met Office, Admiral Fitzroy.

Personally, I preferred its old name of Finisterre - at least you knew where they were talking about!
