My sons farther not been very good at seeing his son over the last two years since his ex left him and only ever sees him for three and a half hours once a week now if that, my son's dad is moving abroard january how do i help my son come to terms with not having his dad around, I have managed to get the ex to have him christmas day for a few hours so they can spend some time together but i don't think its enough. can my son travel to see his dad once he moves ? and whats the age limit for a child to travel

Three and a half hours a week?? no weekends?? anyway- last I checked you have to be 12 to travel alone- it may vary from airline to airline- some may have provision for younger children- D

It doesn't look like there will be much to hold the bond together. How about a cell phone account for both, like friends and family. See what kind of calling plans there are for the country where he's moving. Talk to him and see if he will pay for half or more. He may communicate with his son more if it's easier, and your son will feel better knowing he has at least a little control over reaching his Dad. Physical contact is the best, but in today's world of high tech communication there are some viable substitutes.

My children travelled as " unaccompanied minors" from the age of three with all sorts of airlines !

my daughters dad only wants to see her for two hours once a week!! they are gits men like this and dont deserve the privalige of being a parent.
