The best scam I've seen has been the Powerbook scam - it was the best because the person getting scammed realised it, and ended up scamming the scammer!

Highly recommend a read.

The papers reported that this guy got sucked into a Nigerian scam sometime back. He became a bankrupt because he refused to believe it was a scam and kept sending money to some overseas bank account.

I'm a computer professional, been using computers since 1979. My wife, who doesn't have the experience I have almost fell for a phishing scam a couple of months back. She stopped just short of entering in her credit card number but had already entered her e-bay password. I told her to change her passwords but she didn't want to since she'd just changed them. I made her change them anyway. Now when she sees these phishers, she wants to find them and kill them. :)
