No you are not the only person. For the past few years, I've called it "Gimmie, Gimmie Day." My family is very non materialistical and only really celebrate it for the young kids in the family. We are not religious but incorporate and teach the origin of St. Nick and also tell them why Christians (Other religion too) celebrate. We also stress the value of "family time:" during Christmas.

I think the answers to this question is how you see christmas most see it as a time of giving present, and big dinners some of us celebrate the real reason of christmas Jesus Birth, Santa was invented by the Coca Cola company.
To me christmas is a time to spend with family and friends and be grateful for what we have.
I don't go all the commercial hype.

YESSSSSS! I agree with you 100%!!!!
ppl are not interested in the meaning of Christmas, only selfish thoughts! Hoe much $ to spend, who to buy what for, and who gives the most expensive gift, it is crappy!
besides that cant even go to wallmart at the holidays with out waiting inline for 2 house just to buy a few NON christmass items! I am beginning to hate the holidays- it is dredful! and the ppl fighting in shops for the last thing onsale, where is the Christmas cheer? gone out the window along with religion!
these ppl make me sick!

I was hoping that it read as a statement rather than a question!
That is:
I AM THE ONLY PERSON WHO BELIEVES CHRISTMAS IS OVERRATED!!
Then we would have ALL been much better off!

i like christmas but i hate how it has been turned into a money making scheme! like everyone is trying to get your money and it gets so expensive!
