Looking for the name of a UK tv series based on a girls soccer team?

Aired in Australia in the late 90s but only a few episodes were shown, not sure if series continued in UK

The series was called Playing the field. I used to watch it & was disappointed when they didn't bring out a new season of episodes. I think you mean Playing the field which was a women's football team based in the north of England. A friend says it was based on the doncaster Belles. The theme song was " i lost my heart to the belles" - so he could be right. It was on BBC1 and lasted for 3 series i think. the only famous face in it was The Office's Finchy.

i havent heard of a girlsfootball team series, but there is a film based on a girs football team called bend it like Beckham, fab film, worth a look! good luck in your quest!

There was 'Playing the field'. It was more women than girls but I didn't watch it so not sure if that's the one you mean.
