hi ,
it is a relly nice proverb but it rarely suits this era where generation people think marriage may be a probabtionary period oform each of the partner as when they can sanction the marriage or go for divorce and stay apart or at the max let say what happens in india usually dowry death where in daughter in laws are killed or harassed or the groom is cheated by the bride's side by buying him for their daughter and infringing the freedom ..

truly marriages are made in heaven..god decides whose our life partner and when we should meet the better half our life...the term better half is used here because when all of us are born or created by god we are only a partial form but afetr we marry and learn to share a life with each other then we become complete..
but if we make the worng choice the life becomes a living hell...

but there are so many such relations where in the bond is lifeless but people just stick on with each other due to the kids or any other personal reason..but truly such relations dont make a meanign at all... when there is love between a man and his wife it will fruitfully develop till they part each other at death...
where marriages are a success this proverb would hold good...

Well, that depends on what you think marriage is. The legality of marriage is made on earth. If you're saying marriage is made in heaven, human hands have no ability to affect that, so stop "defending the sanctity of marriage" and just let the gay people get the legal benefits they want! BLARGH!

Marriages are technically made by the judicial system...doesn't the city have to sign the papers when all is said and done?
If a marriage is happy and successful, I'd say heaven approves it.
