Yeah, it's a great time of the year. Winding down the year. Commericals all over the TV & RADIO. Coldness in the air. Lots of clothes - bundling up. The visuals at public places and at homes (xmas lites and decos). The smell of new flavors at Starbucks. The Pine scent in the house. Yeah. Great times.

Oh I just love it. I love the music, the decorations and the happy feeling in the air. I love cooking and baking throughout the whole season. I still watch every Christmas special on TV.
I don't understand why people complain about the commercialism. If you don't get caught up in that yourself it doesn't make one bit of difference. We don't spend a lot of money at Christmas, I think it takes away from the true meaning of the Holiday.
My biggest tradition is heating up some leftovers and opening up a bottle of wine the day after Thanksgiving and putting up my tree and decorating.

Yes, I still love Christmas in all the ways that you described. My whole neighborhood puts up traditional white lights early in December for about a week, then it's a free-for-all with anything-goes decorating with color. I can't resist buying some Christmas decorations every year. The best part for me is sharing the time with family, especially the children.

I do! Especially when I see a small child looking up in awe at Santa and Christmas trees. As for favorite traditions, my all-time favorite is the lovely Christmas eve service at our church and the huge traditional turkey dinner Christmas afternoon with family.

I believe in the magic of Christmas. Its a wonderful, beautiful time of year and I look forward to it all year round. I dont think I could ever be in a bad mood at Christmas time and I cant understand how others could be either. Some say its too commercial, but I think that depends on the person. If they choose to follow the commercializing trend then thats up to them. I enjoy the fun, old fashion family Christmas. Oh...and Merry Christmas!

Until i had my kids i had kinda lost interest in Christmas, but since my sons gotten old enough to understand it i have a renewed interest. My favorite thing to do is make Christmas cookies with him, he young enough to get excited by helping me. Also reading the night before Christmas before he goes to bed on Christmas eve, so he is excited about Santa coming. Leaving the cookies out and milk for him. My dad leaving an empty glass and half of a cookie its great!!!

Yes, but only because it was the one time my family would all get together, listen to the Longines Symphony and Jim Neighbors, have Chex Mix, company and all get along. The presents were just a side effect and honestly I can only remember 2 that I got when I was a kid that were not socks and undies (we got things we needed not 'gifts' because we had no $) but it was the togetherness! *sigh* most of my family is gone now, so we will never have those times back, and kids are not on the horizon for any of us youngsters so we will not create them in the future. Sad really, that.

What, this commercialisation of a Christianisation of a Pagan mid-winter festival?
Some do, clearly.
I'm closer to Emerson, Lake and Palmer's
"I believe in Father Christmas"
There's a lot of selling of dreams of Christmas, with the best, and worst of intentions.
