You don't have to as Puffy said but it's always better to leave on good term what ever happens.

Just say that another opportunity has come your way that is impossible to turn down or you have realised the job isn't for you.

You never know who these owners of the company might know and it could affect you in the future in a new job. I'm sure they would prefer you to come clean at this early stage rather than investing huge amounts of money and time training you, etc.

Companies have had lots of people leave after a lot less time, my mate went home after 3 hours!

Well if the job really isnt for you and you think you have given it your best shot, you need only to say that "Unfortunately, after some consideration, you find the job is not what you would like to do long term" Thank them for their time and hope that they will find a more suitable candidate.

After only 2 weeks, you do not have to give any notice.

Why give notice? If you don't have the guts to phone, I assume you're not going to serve out the period of notice by turning up.

If you're not going to do that, they'll view you unfavourably whatever else you do, so I suggest you just write a polite short note advising that you quit. Put a positive spin on it by all means, but if you're not going to do them the courtesy of showing your face again, then ...

Please don't quit by text message.

"I am providing two week's notice to terminate my employment with this organization. Thank-you for the opportunity to work here, but I must pursue another path."
Sincerely,
