I saw a news clip that said Marines rejected an $80, 000.oo donation of Biblical dolls for Toys for Tots. They said they did not want to offend people celebrating CHRISTmas with religous toys.
WHAT! It is CHRISTmas! If people don't know it's about the birth of JESUS in the first place, they were raised in a cave. What have we come to! And why refuse donations in the first place. These toys can bring just as much joy and play as a Barbie doll could.
I think it is sad that political correctness has caused people to be afraid of a Little Jesus doll that might be given to a kid who celebrates CHRISTmas. Come on Marines! Show some back bone and give the toys out!
What do you think?

To Wanda G........So what you are saying is, that if I being a Christian chose to celebrate let's say Hanukkah, which I respect and honor but do not celebrate, I should be able to celebrate it without someone offending me by giving me a menorah or my kids a dreidel? How absurd!
I don't care what pagan traditions may be represented at Christmas, you can use that excuse for any holiday and pick it apart, it has been established in this country that Dec. 25th is a day set apart to remember the birth of The Savior of the world, which, whether He told us to remember it or not, is WORTH remembering and honoring.
He never told us to not remember His birth, He did tell us to remember what He was born for, to have His body broken and His blood shed.
Why do people who are non-believers keep such close track of Christian events? I think it is because if they can find flaws they might find an excuse to back up thier choice to deny the truth.
You can find fault with me, but not with JESUS.

i attempted to cost some solutions right here although the device appears failing somewhat. Mojo, I agree - how a lot of our indicators are honestly written, they are commonly only symbols which artwork to boot in Russia, China or Japan (or everywhere else for that count number). No get proper of entry to would not could be written, an emblem is sparkling adequate and a similar one is used in the course of the global. the really indicators that are frequently written are directional - and so if someone leads to Chippenham, Wiltshire, extremely than Chippenham, Cambridgeshire, I doubt if every person fairly concerns. the single project that i will assert is that between the perfect written street indicators I have ever seen replaced into in Australia. in case you look down the 'out' lanes of a twin carriage way (that can propose that in case you've been utilizing down them you'd be going the incorrect way), there are indicators putting forward 'turn back!' If I observed an illustration like that, in spite of if it were written in eastern, i'm constructive that it would make me imagine about which aspect of the line I could be utilizing on! I doubt if the newspaper list replaced into best. they'll do some thing to promote their stuff!

It has been estimated that our world has around 4200 different religions. The twelve most prominent are: baha'l, buddhism, christianity, confucianism, hinduism, islam, jainism, judaisim, shinto, sikhism, daoism, zoroastrianism.
In America there are possibly followers of these and other religions who, while not christians, may want their children to enjoy the spirit and gifts that come with the observance of the "christian" commercial holiday. Even so, they possibly would be offended if they discovered that their children were being indoctrinated in the christian religion via a barbie doll.
Out of consideration for the feelings of others with a variety of religious beliefs I believe the Marines were correct when they initially turned down the donation of the barbie dolls. Unfortunately, the christian community selfishly convinced the Marine Corp. to accept the dolls and thumb their nose at all non-christians in America.
As an atheist, I too would be offended if my children received a "christian" talking barbie.

I am discussed by their rejection. I am discussed by the way businesses and judges and schools and government has embraced political correctness, which is majorly incorrect.
I am real tired of being offended by those who go over-board to not offend the minority at the expense of the majority.
So, I AGREE WITH YOU.

I could see where that would be silly and a sheer waste. I think they may be concerned with the separation of church and state however. They are a branch off of the government.

Your "Christ"mas was originally a pagan holiday. Tacking Christianity onto a pagan holiday doesn't make it a "holy"day. I think they were right in their decision. Christmas isn't about Christianity, it's a commercialized pagan holiday! Jesus didn't say "Put up a tree and give gifts on my birthday" he said to drink the wine and eat the bread in remembrance of him!
