I keep on getting this remark when I want to log into a website (using a username and password). Yes I checked that my username and password is correct. I use to be able to get in, but now I am not even able to get into the site. I have checked the security settings but everything seem to be fine. Have anybody experienced this or can anyone help. Please!

The problem you have can be caused by many factors, as: firewalls, proxy settings, browser version, browser security. But a good start will be to check if cookie files are allowed on your computer. If you are using IExplorer, go to Internet Options/Privacy and set it to Medium.

It has niothi to do with username or password. Each time a user logs in a session-id is assigned to the user. Once he logs out his session is 'killed'.

In some website the sessions are automatically killed after a certain time of inactivity. This is to make sure that users who are inactive doesn't use system resources.

You need not alter the security settings for this. The only thing you can try is to use a faster connection.

the fact that your session has expired means that you have been logged on on a website with a user name and password and have not been using the website for a long time, more than a few hours for example

it's a measure of protection for the case in which you forget to log off, so that someone using the same computer cannot access your account without knowing your password

if this is happening with only one particular website, it might be their fault, they might not be handling cookies properly
try finding out if someone else has the same problem with that web site and you can also try deleting the cookies on your computer and log on again

The site has no idea whether it's you using it or if you've left your computer and someone else has taken their chance. To deal with this potential problem it has to have your password (you can tell it to remember your user name when you log in) every so often.
