How about Yahoo search engine ?

I think Yahoo now uses mostly its own search tech, seperate from Google stuff. However I could be mistaken, as maybe tied-in somehow on the search.

I do agree.. Google is sucky atm, but no stand out alternatives as far as I can see. Google you fools, bring back that feature where you can paste a url in to search field, and if no results found, allows you to try the link to see if its valid. Since you removed that option, my address bar gets clogged up.

Bing will give you much more relevant sites for what you seek. Google lists only the sites that are paying revenue in some form or another. They tried to get me to pay, and when I refused, they dropped me from their searches. So now, people looking for what I sell are stuck with articles from how-to and ads from Lowes.

google is qood. I tend to use yahoo first (as it's my homepage) and google if I need anything extra.
sometimes yahoo picks up things that google doesnt, and vice versa.

I suggest that you take a look at your searching skills
remember GIGO (garbage in, Garbage out)

I'm holding back from flaming you for speaking about google that way. You need to learn how to use it. If you don't get the results you want you are searching using the wrong words. What are you searching for?
