you can some pc program to do it, or you can get an iriver ifp-series mp3 player. it has outstanding recording quality, as well as line-in and FM tuner recording. A cheap one should only be $20-$45, depending on how much MB. good luck! PS (sigh) if you dont need/want high quality, go to start/all programs/accessories/entertainment/sound recorder.

I have a program called Cool Edit Pro 2.0 that will let you record audio and save it in my formats including MP3. It's a very good program and you can do a lot of stuff with it. I would try that.

Old versions of Musicmatch Jukebox [free!] up to about ver 6 have a direct recording facility. Plug a mic into the PC, select mic in record options and go for it - but set your levels and select the mic input in system mixer under the record option display.
New versions don't have it, but you can get the old ones at oldversion.com.

i exploit a Samsung YP-U2J. the single gig one is approximately 50$, i haven't broken it yet, and dealing on a submarine is perplexing on electronics, it form of feels to be fairly water-resistant, and it costs off a USB stress. To me the voice recording is amazingly stressful yet i will stay with having it. that's a sprint extra suitable than a block sort eraser (the purple ones)
