Saving money for emergencies, natural disasters, illnesses, and the future. Why is it that men usually think about this and women don't? Do they just pray to marry a rich man?

Of course there are women who hunt for the rich and rich alone or look for an easy ticket to a material world where the man provides her with money to spend on things that she wants. But then, you have to realize that all women are not that way. There are those single moms and there are those women who save for their old age and for their children. There are women like me who work and save and strike a balance between spending and saving and my husband is the same way. We decide together when spending has to be big on some things and if we absolutely require it or not. More than women, I think men have more things to play with such as electronics, cars... Majority of the women opt for clothes and shoes and holidays. And those who earn well buy their own cars. I've known women who have worked a full time job to pay mortgages and put their husbands through school so they could get a better job and earn better. What on earth makes you think that men are the ones that think of saving and women don't? Think again. You've probably encountered women who are deprived or lazy and not supportive...lol.

Why does money strike such an emotional bond in people that they shriek when they win millions and scowl when someone begs for it?

Why can't the government just give every man, woman, and child everything they need to survive and let money become something less desirable, not worthy of any desperate measures?

Why can't you be the bigger person and admit that you are so controlled by the concept of money that you would transfer this feeling to the idea that women are the cause of your own idiocy?

You are generalizing. I have guy friends who blow their money as much as any women do. To answer your question I would have to say that there are various reasons some women love to shop. You need to keep in mind that the media targets women to buy their products more than it does men and women are expected to be as attractive as possible to be acceptable and that requires a lot of stuff, while men need deoderant and razors and it pretty much ends there for them! I wonder if you even know how much it costs just to get a decent make-up collection going ( cha-ching!)...

Shopping is pleasurable for most women and if a woman is compulsive or addictive shopping can become a bonafide addiction for her, but that isn't the case with every woman out there at all.

I don't think most women "blow" all of their money on shopping. Some spend more than they should on it, but that isn't all women and I believe most women are actually very thrifty. I love to shop myself, but I don't blow all of a paycheck on it ever and I really only buy things when they are on sale!

My own mother abhores shopping and buying anything other than neccessities, so I guess she is man from your viewpoint then. All I know if that I have NEVER known a male as thrifty as my penny-pincher mother.

That's he most sexist thing I ever heard, I think you either watch too much TV or hang out with women who define that stereotype. I save one quarter of every paycheck for the future and have RRSP's. I kmow lots of guys who go out and spend most of their money at the bar or the strippers, is that better somehow? And no, they don't "marry rich men". I am supporting my house right now because my boyfriend is disabled. Men like you help embody the stereotype of the goddigging woman.

i think ur being harsh on us, i save a lot when i shop and make sure am getting a deal. but we shop for different reasons. i shop to impress my boyfriend, look good at work and school, self gratification, or for stress. and i never prayed to marry a rich man, but am working on a 2nd degree to earn more and provide for myself. i think u need and independent girl to change ur idea
good luck

Just how stereotypical are you? I know plenty of women who save money, only spending enough to live. Yes, women are more prone to shopping when stressed, but we can save money too.

Agreed women human beings would desire to easily enable us to men pass to the bar in the nighttime to maintain electrical energy in the residing house the place they are able to sit down down on the hours of darkness. Your call - i think of Linoel Richie would disagree.
