My grandparents were Polish. I was called Wladja. That is really short for Wladyslawa. I should have been called Karol, for Char. Wladyslawa is feminine version of Walter, or Wladyslaw and Wladek.

I called my maternal grandparents in simple terms Grandma and Grandpa. My paternal grandparents I called Papa and Mam. For my little ones, we will use Nana and Papa for my husband's mothers and dads, Grandpa for my husbands organic and organic father, and Granny and Papa for my mothers and dads. My sister's husband's kinfolk is lovable. They call his mothers and dads G-mommy and G-daddy. they did no longer prefer to pass via "grand" something.

My grandparents raised me. My grandma hates nicknames. My real mama calls me Porkchop.



I say it's got to do with tying a porkchop around your neck so the dog would play with you. I tell my sister I was the porkchop around her neck.

haha... my grandpa was the king of nicknames! everyone had one - for my sisters and i: jennifer ann the sh*t can, jessica jean the jelly bean, and nessa the messa. pretty much all very suiting of us too.
