I think using good cutlery not only allows for your own enjoyment (I can't stand eating with crappy utensils), but shows your guests that you have enough respect for them to use the good stuff. Not only does it make you feel good, depending on the style you choose, it is also an expression of your style and personality.

I am all for good premium quality cutlery, especially for occasions. Here is an experiment to try: Pour a glass of champagne or any drink you want in a cheap plastic cup and another in an expensive sparkling crystal glass one. Which one do you like better?

No...Cutlery has a place down in the list.. What actually matters is who you have on the other side of the table.

For many years, my grandmother's silver sat in a cabinet, unused. One day, I started using it. It makes me feel good every time I hold it, as if my grandmother is still around. I do notice when other people use their good silverware: it feels heavier in my hand and more stable. Consider it this way: it might be expensive, but per use it is very cheap, as it will last for generations. Compare that to the expensive wedding dress that gets used just once, and you'll see that it's a bargain.

I say that is greater useful than having a mom who has a table which you would be able to't even locate as a results of fact it is so cluttered with junk and a paper path 24 hrs an afternoon. in case you may desire to make enormous brownie factors with mom tell her you savor it that she likes issues so neat. she will ask your self what the heck you're as much as even though it's going to make her day. i'm a mom and that i understand this thinking.( smile).

it might matter if Tina turner was coming to dinner, otherwise any clean functional silverware is fine by me. i personally am not impressed if someone spends enough money to make a car payment on silverware. it doesn't increase my enjoyment of the meal either. but if it makes you happy go for it, that's all that matters, we all have our own priorities. I'll spend $100 on a book, and some people think that's nuts. lolololol ,to each his own. peace.

I dont think it is like that. People are more for fashion. Most people like to keep fancy items on the table. So most people do not think it is important nowadays...
