When my mother had just given birth to my sister, the nurses tried to wheel her into another room so the doctor could get her tubes tied without her permission. They took one look at our family, and thought she was having kids to put on well fare. We never ever took government aid. My brother is at an Ivy league school now, and I'm applying for college. But that still irks me. This was in 1993 by the way, in a well respected hospital.

People are not just discriminated because of colour, they are also discriminated against because of weight, looks, voice, attitude, the way they dress, etc..

Some people get passed over for jobs(and other things) because they are too fat, or too ugly in the face. It's sad, but TRUE!

Would you rather hire a female nurse with a pink, spikey mo-hawk, tattooed face, and multiple piercings? Or would you rather hire a nurse who who has no tattoos, no piercings and regular natural looking hair? These are the types of things that employers look at.

Would you rather hire a 450 pound woman, or a 125 pound woman? These are the things an employer looks at!

Would you rather hire a person who is blunt, loud mouthed, and jelly-necks? Or a person who is well maintained in their attitude, and soft spoken? These are things that an employer looks at!

It is discrimination.
Well one example would be (2 people equally qualified for the same job),but one person gets it just because of the color of their skin.
Or 2 people equally qualified for a promotion, but one gets the promotion solely based on the color of their skin.
And it is not always against what you would call the minority.
I have seen white folks, passed over for jobs, just because they were not black.
This they call job quotas. I call it reverse discrimination.
