Why does society deam it to be ok for women to be gay but they damb men for being gay?

A Macho patriacrhial society which sexualy objectifies women. What better way than to double up on that with pairing up two women. Drives men wild. But In the same thread hate the pairing of two men which for some reason there can onlyn be One attitude makes it demasculoinitive.

i know what you are talking about but i dont think its that simple...
i will say that the bible is supposedly a lot more vocal about male homosexuality than women (although personally i don't believe the bible ever condemns the modern concept of homosexuals in monogamous, consensual relationships...) some of what you are talking about may stem from that.
however, on the surface it may seem that lesbians are more accepted but in actuallity i feel that, while female intimacy (hugging, kissing, holding hands, other physical contact, as well as emotional intimacy) is almost totally accepted, actually identifying oneself as a lesbian may be even harder than a male identifiying as gay. while lesbian women may be able to express their desires more openly pre-outing, they will still be missing some things. still, the fact that they can "get away" with a little bit, can be a bit enabling to continue living a secret life in the closet. in conclusion, i don't think lesbians have it any easier, its just that their struggle is different.

(ps. one part that is easier for lesbians is: generally speaking, i think that straight women are much less threatened by a lesbian that straight men are by a gay man)

Its the nature that people mistake for.When a man become gay,they always thought they will become feminine.And despise them because of that,shallow people are like that.
There always some idiots that think two women making love is hot and two guys making love is not aka disgusting.The most disgusting things is the people think that way.

It is just the way our culture is right now. 30 years ago, both gays and lesbians were looked down upon equally. Now, I think lesbians are usually treated better than gay men. In ancient Greece and ancient Rome, gay men were treated better than lesbians. So, it is just our culture right now.

Because it's all @#(%& up! Lesbians are deemed acceptable because straight men get off on it and they feel gay men are a threat to their sexuality. Straight men are loud about sex (and still have control of the world), so for some bass ackward reason -- sexism, most probably -- whatever straight men prefer is considered 'acceptable' and whatever straight men don't like is damned.

As a straight woman, I'm vocal about my love of gay men. I think straight women need to back gay men the way straight men have backed gay women. It won't flip the world on it's ear, but dammit, boys kissing boys is hot and I want more! YEEHAW!
