When does india will become as a super power?

Superpower has many definitions. For the purpose of this question, let's say it means to have enough economic prosperity to have a larger middle and upper class population than lower class population, long-term economic stability, and military and political influence which extend beyond your home continent and region. India is decades away from all of these goals. The economy has done well recently, but can easily tank with another semi-socialist government full of protectionist ideas. Terribly poor infrastructure, a looming battle with AIDS, and generally inadequate military (not to rag on the Indian military, I'm sure they're brave and loyal fighters, but their vast majority of their non-human equipment is not up to par with the US, Britain, France or China) are all major setbacks. Plus, you can bet China won't sit by and just let India develop as another superpower once it attains that status.

Probably 2050-2075 range.

it was predicted that they will over come china by 2035 for the most population, but that was a propaganda in the Chicago papers in an article, have no idea what is meant by a super power we are out there with no offense playing kid game with viet Nam and middle east when we are a super power we send one ultimatum and then we send over the bomb this crap is for the birds, is India had the bomb and they were being attached I'm waiting to see if they would play small arms and watch their people die so the war could be small stupid stuff, it doesn't makes sense to have other people convince me that super powers mean anything anymore. we haven't had any balls since we dropped the last one and we have been eating shyt ever since

i would like this country 2 be a superpower for our people not for the entire world.look what USA,USSR,Great Brtain have done to this world.all the conflicts of today like middle east,korean,indo-pak are the creation of these countries
if the average indian or the common man on the streets of india is happy ,every child goes to a school,if every poor indian has food 3 times a day,
then india is a superpower(for its citizens).

U have not asked about as to what will make it a superpower. U have only asked the time.I think it should be around 2030-35.
And that will be probably because of FDIs and other investments in India and not because our leaders will do something great.

To be reasonable - - - - - - defineatly not in next 25 years. Probably next generation can take us to next level. Present generation is good job of making India economically sound, but it is not enough.

When only it abonden the Privitisation , Capitalisation , Globalisation schemes .....and when it functions without expecting the idea of America and Britain...It can.....But....It will take a hundred & hundred of years....If these things are not going to be happened...and it continues like the present political situations........Nothing possible.....then....it will be more better if Our country will not be the colony for other capitalist countries in future.
