askaway, you are absolutely right.
Sex is important but it is not everything and is not always the priority.

My opinion is that we should make time for sex in marriage. Men and women need sex, it is that simple.

I couldn't agree more..You'd think that people were getting married to have sex..I realize sex is a great contributor to a healthy marriage but people just don't seem to have much interest in satisfying their partner, which should really be their goal during sex..

I agree. Sex is a very important part of a healthy relationship. Those that want to portray themselves as somehow above the call of nature have become so bored that they are in denial. I don't know any couples that somehow remain super connected while having a poor sex life. It's like the chicken and the egg...what came first a good relationship or good sex? It doesn't really matter though does it? Without one, you don't have the other.

although intimacy is an important part of any marriage....its not everything.....sometimes you go through stages in life where other things take priority....for example when we had our first child...sleeping for me was more important as i was lucky to get 3 hours of solid sleep a night...when our second was born and our oldest only 2yrs old....again the sleep was hard.....sex took a back bench.......
now that the kids are a little older things are back to the way it should be....luckily i have a husband who understands that as much as we enjoy being together we are together for more than just sex and therefore it never put any pressure on our marriage.....its all about balance, happiness and opportunity.......

Many people today think that what they see on TV and in the movies is a true representation of what sex is really like. People try to compare their real sex lives to the mythical Hollywood version. Thinking your sex life should be like Tom Cruises is like thinking all husbands should look like a weight lifter and all wives should look like a playmate. Real life, real love and real sex will never sell in Hollywood.

people tend not to vocalise their sexual wants and needs to their partners in fear of rejection. I've learned the hard way that you're better off just saying it. Most likely, your partner will want to try it too.
