I could not help giving some input into this question.
Did you know there are more differences among the Asian countries than among the European ones?
Even within the same Asian country there are large differences in the people, their cultures and even their languages.
Just look at India where over 1600 languages and dialects are spoken (http://www.atlapedia.com/online/countries/india.htm)
Chinese are way different from Japanese who are much different from Koreans.
So I would say the special traits of Asian countries are their vast differences from each other.

Asia is big in geograph, so there exist huge diversities among all the asian countries.
I'm from China. People from East Asia look very much alike while middleeast very different.
