does anyone know if it's legal for me to set up a tent in front of Target overnight? From about midnight to 5 am? If i'm planning on buying something when it opens? (yes, i know it doesn't open at 5 am) please cite your references.

i dont have references really but i work there i guess i could ask and get back to you... buuuut id say no. they have cameras out and they look for anything suspicious plus they have guards and stuff... theyd think you were waiting for a relative you are mad at to open the store so you could hurt them or something... they have lots of security measures, so i dont think it is a good idea... maybe if it was like black friday or something... when they open all early and have lots of sales....

If you are talking about the day after Thanksgiving you will probably not be alone. The legality comes from the rules of the shopping center and from Target. The store is located on private property so the city laws probably have no effect. Call the store manager and ask him. If your purpose is other than to be the first in line when the store opens you will probably be asked to leave. Good Luck. Does Target really have special buys that are that great?

The best bet would be to contact the Target and ask the manager. You probably could show up just an hour or two before they open and get whatever item you are wanting so bad. Good luck, hope you get it.

Walmart lets people car camp. Not in all cities, but some. I am not sure about a tent anywhere. Ask them at the target. www.target.com they have an 1-800 number on the site. You may have to camp in your car. I am not sure anyone wants a tent poking holes in their grass.

Depends on the city ordinances but I would say yes, you can do. Call Target and ask if the strip mall that are in has any restrictions. There could be some restrictions due to liability on the part of the property owner.

This one is up to your local laws. Most juristictions give a renter (if Target dosen't own the land) the right to shoo you away if they can prove you are scareing away business. If they own the land, then they can charge you with trespassing.
