So I just heard the other day that my company is going to be laying me and my 46 co-workers off. I am 23, have a BS in Business management, some experience in food and restaurant as well as grocery stores and now manufacturing.
What do you do? Why do you like it? What field is hot right now? I need a job that makes at least $35,000 (in Iowa) with more or less the above criteria.

Get your resume ready and start looking on line first, craigslist,com is one place I would look. I have not researched it but I'm sure there are a lot of places to post and look at job posts. Take your pink slip to the unemployment office and apply for unemployment. They have jobs listed there too but don't set up an appointment with one unless you think you may be happy there. If they hire you, You may lose your unemployment if you don't take it. This may be a good time to think about the place you would really like to work for or what kind of work you would like to do most, maybe even where you would rather live. Life is not over. This may be just what you needed. There are more people hired in Dec than any other month. Oh, You may want to kind of take it easy for Christmas. I'm sure the family, friends will understand. I hope that you are busy looking on Monster.com and Careerbuilder, post ur resume and apply as much as possible. The local newspaper should have many openings. Give urself as much leadway as possible.
I was just hired as an Account Executive at HSBC, the largest bank in the world. My salary is well over 35,000 and the benefits are great. Check the website out. At least they let u know they were laying u off, oh in the meantime, u may wanna file unemployment until u get on ur feet. Check your local city's website.That way, if it takes u much longer to get a job, u will have an income.

work on your resume and make it an excellent one to get good job. You may also take the help of consultant to make an attractive resume. Then You should submit your resume to leading jobsite like www.monster.com, www.careerbuilder.com. Also you should consult local placement consultant in your area. In the meantime, look out for an option to work online. Although it wont pay you like full time job but its good to make some extra cash. I am a part time worker doing work online at home, so I would like to share a link where you can make $600 in a month working at home.
