As much as I want another child..it's the best thing I ever did. No more bleeding weeks at a time..no more PMS..no more pain so bad I was bent over. The biggest issue now is that I do want more kids and the hot flashes..none of the HRT is working..You will be really sore for about 6 weeks. I couldn't even sit on the toilet...it's hard to P..standing up.. Thank God for pain pills and IV drugs..I literally cried for weeks I hurt so bad but now knowing that I have to buy no more expensive feminine products..knowing I am not going to have to wear a pad every day of my life because I never know when I am going to start or stop...WONDERFUL..GL and take care

It is a hard decision. I went through cancer at the age of 20. I went through treatment after treatment finally I went through with the hysterectomy, it is a hard surgery but it can really help. The recovery can be tough for some people, I found walking asap helped me get on my feet sooner.

A friend of mine had her period for 9 months she had the surgery and now is doing fine.

Going to the Federal Health site were you live will have allot of info. The Health department of your city (town) will also have info and some times support groups.

For both myself and my friend it was the best thing we could do. For many people the relief it brings is wonderful. NO MORE pain and you might have more of a spring in your step when you are not losing so much blood

It will be the best thing you can ever do. No more bleeding, cramping, etc. I had my hysterectomy back in 1993 due to a very large fibroid and a condition called something like adenodysplagia, where I was bleeding excessively. The lining of my uterus was thickening, and if it had continued it could have caused cancer. I was reluctant to have the hysterectomy because I thought it was so final, but it turned out the best thing that I could have ever done. Best of luck to you.

you need and end to the pain dear, and hysterectomy is the way for you. it's only painful for the day after, then no more periods and no more cramping, if you're worried about your hormone levels ask your doctor about premarin, and you'll thank God that you got rid of your uterus. it was one of the best days of my life. makes life easier but the mood swings after the operation are a bit annoying. thats why hrt is probably for you.
