I am a little over a week late for my period. I have a standard 29 day cycle and it I can set my watch to it. I always start at the same time when my period is due. I was at peak ovulation on the 26th of October and had sex every other day from the 23rd til the 29th of Ocotber. I am having quite a few pregnancy symptoms. I am not getting my hopes up because I had a blood test done out of curiousity and it came back negative. My symptoms are still going on currently and becoming stronger by the day. symptoms include, nausea, slight constipation, foods I once love now I can't stand the smell of, mild to moderate headaches, slight cramping, increase in cervical discharge, mild lower back pain, breast tenderness, darkening around my nipples, I am bloated just a bit, always hot, very tired lately even when I get the normal amont of sleep each night I feel as if I could sleep for another 12 hours or more, frequent urination, always thirsty. those are what I am experiencing right now

The symptoms are getting stronger each day. The blood test that was performed was a qualitive (spelling) blood test which I have been told will come up negative if a certain level of HCG is not detected. I have taken several home pregnancy tests and all came back negative one I got a faint faint light but I doubt that means anything. I am not under any unusual stress right now, my eating habbits remained the same until recently because of me feeling nauseated when I eat and nothing sounds good to me. I am not getting my hopes up and do plan to meet with my doctor if I miss another period which the next one is due on December 7th if I dont start before then. Any advice or anyone going through the same thing right now please help me out a bit with this. Thanks

When I went to the hospital for a blood test I informed them of all my symptoms and told them that I have had a previous tubal pregnancy which the thought of that happening again scares me to death, even by me telling them that along with all of my symptoms they just took my blood did the test which by the way they had the results in about 15-20 minutes (is that normal) and came back told me it came back negative and sent me on my way and told me there was nothing wrong with me. It kinda worries me that now-a-days our doctors arent always accurate or just down right lazy and dont care about the well being of others, I mean isnt that what they are paid to do?? anyway I wasnt planning on going back to the doctor until I miss my next period but do you think I should go back sooner??? and what should I be looking out for if this is an ectopic pregnancy the last one was caught early I had no symptoms with that one.

Qualitative Pregnancy Blood Test - This can only give a "yes" or "no" answer as to whether or not HCG is present. This test gives results similar to what urine based home pregnancy test kits do.
(this means if there is not a certain amount of HCG in the body it will come up negative and you could still be pregnant)
Quantitative Pregnancy Blood Test – This test can actually measure the exact amount of hCG in the woman's blood. This measurement can help give a rough estimate of the age of the fetus. It can also help determine if the pregnancy is progressing normally. The qualitative test, described above, is not able to provide this extra information.
(this one is a bit more acurate I dont believe 100% acurate but pretty close)

A NORMAL TEMP FOR ME IS ABOUT 99 DEGREES ALWAYS HAS BEEN I DONT KNOW WHY BUT EVERY MORNING THE TEMP HAS BEEN AROUND 100 DEGREES NOTE:: 99 DEGREES IS A NORMAL TEMP FOR ME SO DONT TELL ME I AM SICK OR HAVE A FEVER!!

UMM... FOR THE GENTLEMAN WHO SAID I AM NOT HEALTHY ENOUGH TO GET PREGNANT THEN MAYBE YOU COULD EXPLAIN WHY EVERY YEAR FOR THE LAST THREE YEARS I HAVE GOTTEN PREGNANT?? THE FIRST ONE WAS AN ECTOPIC SECOND ONE WAS A MISCARRIAGE AND THE THIRD RESULTED IN MY BEAUTIFUL BABY THAT I HAVE NOW. SO PLEASE DONT TRY TO DIAGNOSE MY HEALTH FROM WHAT I HAVE WRITTEN I AM VERY ACTIVE AND VERY HEALTHY I eat well, and take very good care of myself and there is nothing wrong with my husbands health either. I am still young I am in my early 20's so I don't know how you got your "im not healthy" conculsion from?? but I can tell you right now that the one thing that the doctor that gave me the blood test did say is that I was VERY HEALTHY AND DID TAKE GOOD CARE OF MYSELF and that came from an actual doctor!!!!!!!!!!!!! oh yeah BTW I had problems with HCG in the past my last pregnancy didnt come up positive until I was over 9 weeks pregnant..

I would trust the home test you took that came back with a faint line. Most test will not show a positive when it is really negative. To get that faint line you had to have some amount of HCG hormone in your system. It is more common for a test to say you are negative when you are really positive than it is for a positive to actually come back as a negative.
Translation: You can't have a positive test with out the hcg hormone. I would trust that faint line if I were you.
Hope that makes sense.

Anyway good luck!

I wouldn't have the hospital run tests for you. I would make an appointment with your OB because he/she has your medical records and knows your history. Have their office or the lab they use do the blood tests. I know all about quantitative and qualitative blood tests. With my first pregnancy, I had low hcg levels and had to have weekly tests to check them. Unfortunately, that pregnancy ended in miscarriage. My niece had a tubal pregnancy and she didn't know about it until she had such terrible abdominal pain and went to the er. They did an u/s and found it. Unfortunately, she ended up losing that tube. I wouldn't take the chance and risk this happening to you - especially if you had an ectopic pregnancy before. All the information you have given is very descriptive. I would go over all of this with your OB. Don't wait until Dec, make an appointment today. Best of luck to you.

You sound like you are pregnant. I was 5 months gone with my first before I even knew I was pregnant as I was still having periods and nothing changed. But with my second you could have been explaining how I felt with your question. When you go to the doctors take a urine sample with you and he will send it of as there tests are more accurate than most home tests. I hope you get the result you are hoping for. Good luck.

It could be that you have what I would call a "late implanter", which is maybe why the hopsital pg test came back negative.

You should go out and buy yourself an early detection pg kit and give that a go, if it comes back + then definately make an appt with your doctor and ask them to keep an eye on you due to your previous pg history.

Oh and by the way...since you are thinking that you may be pg, there is no harm in starting Folic Acid now until you are 100% sure, give your baby a good chance :)

You have everything I had when I was pregnant. Kinda weird a blood test came out negative. I have heard that woman who think their pregnant and actually have the symptoms...maybe try waiting a few days and going back for another test.

One of the way to get pregnant is to check your temperature. When your temperature is higher you are more able to get pregnant. You are right about the blood test. There are certain chemicals that are only present when a women is pregnant. I has been medically proved. Have you talk about any stress to a doctor. Stress can cause any side effect such as vomiting and headaches

My may need to see a doctor. It might be a tubular pregnancy and you will need to seek medical attention right away. Other than that, you can have a home pregnancy test say negative when it's positive. Try a different brand.

Other than that, good luck!

I don't think that you are pregnant as the test would have come back positive by now. Maybe you should try to put it out of your mind and just get on with life.
