Very well done movie.
Kinda murder mystery type, whos the bad guy.
Basically this Brown dude, took all sorts of concepts some real some he embellished to create a very nice story about the secret bloodline of the child of JESUS CHRIST.
Apparently, Mary Magdaline as has been declared by the Catholics was not the prostitute shes been made out for all this time. Seems she could have been CHRIST's wife.
The Code raises the dispute of the two groups, one of which tried to pretect the other tried to destroy this secret.
Throughout history its believed that many great people were members of one of the parties.
Anyhoo, movie starts with one man dying leaving clues for this one man to follow. wont spoil anything.
It is a well put together movie. Got alittle slow at times but if youre into drama, its good.
Its been one of the first movies to speak out against the Roman Catholics with information that has been widely known for quite some time. And most of these guys ideas are not his own.
Whether CHRIST had or didnt have a wife and or child shouldnt make too much difference as to what HE did, and what HE taught, so I dont really see all the hype behind everything.
roman Catholics are too touchy as it is. Its because they have alot to hide.
anyway..i give the movie about a 3.5 out of 5 stars.
so you know, The prestige, gets a 4 1/2 Departed gets a 4 1/2 and pirates of the caribean 2 gets a 4 1/2
Only movies that get a 5 are Braveheart and Gladiator
thats my rating system.

Remember that this movie and book are fiction, and not fact, though the book contains some facts which are explained in the beginning.
In the story the curator of the Louvre museum in Paris is murdered. He knows an important secret and is the last to know. His grand-daughter is an encryption expert so he uses what little time he has left before he dies to leave coded clues for her to follow. In the course of investigation the police call in an author who knows about codes and had an appointment with the curator and he becomes a suspect in the murder. He meets the grand-daughter and they escape the police and start an investigation of their own based on the clues her grandfather left. They find evidence of a secret organization who believes in the theory that Jesus and Mary Magdalene were married and had a daughter and another organization tied to Rome who want that secret to die with it's keepers. In the end the grand-daughter is reunited with the brother and grandmother she thought died when she was young and it turns out that they are descendants of the daughter of Jesus and Mary. REMEMBER THAT IT IS ENTIRELY FICTION AND NOT BASED ON A FACTUAL EVENT.

Some guy made up a bunch of "mysterious and conspiratorial" crap, threw some real history in, swapped some facts on others,
played on peoples tendency to be paranoid, blended on high with media frenzy and WHAMO!

the movie the davinci code isn't really an accurate portrait of events that happened in real time because no one was really around to chronicle facts in detail as portraited by the motion picture...hollywood is famous for overdramatization to sell a movie ticket...basically the davinci code tells of a secret that the catholic church has covered up regarding jesus christ and the fact that he had a child with mary magdalene..I am looking forward to seeing the movie regardless of the overdramatization..
