most people do. i don't think so much about what would have been better, but what could have been or the wasted potential. the big "if". aunt jenny said, "if you look over your @ss too much you can't see where the hell you are going, and you'll end up in a big ball of sh1t just like your father."

I have never been able to look out my black window. Mind you, nobody has ever been able to look in, either. Now the back window is a different story. I look out and see the 2 big mistakes I would like to have do-overs on, but we have to finish the game with the deck we are given, so we make the best of the hand we are holding on any given day.

I too can't look out the black window, I do think looking out my back window allows me to alter the behaviors and gain wisdom from the good and bad experiences.
I agree w/the other answer, you work w/the world gave you then and strive for a better future.
