That's not true. The brain gets the biggest hit. That's why they're called EMOTIONAL. As far as the other organs, you have to define how you measure "effect". That is, everything gets kicked a little during an emotional wave, adrenals, muscles (including the heart), circulatory system, etc. Just because the heart rate is the easiest to detect does not necessarily mean that it gets a bigger jolt than anything else.

Because when your stressed out really bad it could make your blood pressure go up so there for it could cause a stroke or a heart attack. It does effect our bodies as well that is why some of us have poor appetite or lose sleep. Have to be on anti depressants it effect our mind body and soul. Hope this is good enough though

If your mind gets excited, signals are sent to increase your heart rate. I would say the brain is actually affected the most by emotional disturbances.

We have a evolved a fight or flight response to stress. That means we either get all worked up, ready to fight off our enemies or get all worked ready to run like a screaming little girl. Back when we lived in the wild, it helped with our survival. Nowadays it usually just causes heart attacks.

Strong emotions mean stronger electrical wave thingys sent out, which mean a change of the beating rhytmus of your heart. Or maybe not, I just made it up. But it just might be.

Actually, there's an idea out there that all illnesses originally stem from emotional disturbances. Scientists probably discredit this though.

And also the "gut" - intestines. Neurotransmitters have been found in both these areas of the body. In essence, it is a kind of "thinking" involving parts of the body outside of the brain.

Adrenalin rush. The effect on the heart is just the most noticeable ie you can feel your heart beating faster.
