Youth boards always seem cheaper and was wondering if it would be a smart to get a youth snowboard instead of a women snowboard.

There is a huge difference.

Youth snowboards are rarely built with the performance standards adults will have in mind. A youth board is built to be cheap and to be strong as kids usually hammer their equipment pretty hard. These boards are generally built using the simplest technique's and materials with no accommodation for performance. Not to mention that for the most part all kids boards are built pretty much the same. Now, adult boards are produced at a variety of price and performance levels. Kids are a lot less discerning than adults when it comes to their snowboards (I hate to say it but most kids look no further than graphics and when I say kids I'm talking 13 and under). As a snowboarder progresses things like flex and sidecut and core profile and contact length all begin to mean more. A women's specific board accommodates women by having a narrower waist width (for a typically smaller foot), a narrower stance selection (for a typically smaller frame) and will generally have a flex pattern that is a bit softer flexing in the nose of the board to help compensate for a woman's lower center of gravity.

All this makes a difference. I would never recommend a youth board for an adult

Technical variations are just a bit wider/little stiffer/moderately heavier, effectively positioned. But if you know the way to journey already it mostly could be no enormous, I have a guys's deck (burton customized) that the men within the save mentioned used to be excellent for me. Since it used to be a brief board (for guys, 148. I'm five'6 a hundred and twenty, measurement eight boot) it fairly wasn't so much wider than a feminine's 148, in view that it used to be made for a smaller man traditionally. No enormous deal simply seem on the weight/peak variety it says the rider must be for the board, aspect in kind of driving and so forth..ask the dudes within the save that promote forums what is going to be a well man's board for you.
