Doing both, I temporarily burned out. I am a mom, and doing both takes me away from home too much. I am a level2 firefighter. If I go back to EMT, I will go back to college and get a paramedics license. But I just can't decide which I want to do.

I'd go for EMT myself. The hours are steadier and you aren't generally going into life-or-death situations the way firefighters are.

You need to get the priorities right in your life. You should do what makes you happy but you do have children and that job should come first, the other second. My ex-husband was an EMT, then a Paramedic and honestly the whole emergency thing consumed him, he loved it so much, he forgot he had a family. It's a hard
job to have with a family but people do it all the time. You just have to make family first, job second. Good Luck
