Depends on whether you're visiting Northern, Central or Southern California. I've lived in Southern Calif for 33 years, almost 34. I've seen it snow in places I never thought it could. I've also seen rain for 4-5 weeks. In 1996 when I had my son, we ran the fans & had the doors & windows open. The temp crept up to around 85.
We're 1/2 way into November & haven't had much rain yet. With all the fires, I dread the rains. While it'll help, it'll also cause flooding & mudslides, as well as accidents on the freeways.
If you're looking for snow, head towards the mountians. I live near the San Bernardino mountains, including Big Bear, Wrightwood, Crestline & Lake Arrowhead, all of which get snow in the winter. Someone said to head towards the Nevada border for now. That's fine, if you don't mind driving 5-6 hours to Reno. Berdo mountains are closer, about 2-3 hours or closer, depending on where you are in Southern Calif.

It all depends on what part of CA. I have been on the beach during Christmas.
If your looking for snow then it is likely that the cities that boarded NV mid and upper state will have it.
If your looking for average temps of 60 to 80 then San Diego could be the place.
It is usually about 60-70 in So Ca. Really it will depend on the rain that comes in. With the recent fires I am hoping they have a mild winter.

Well depending on where you live is the question. I live in San Diego, where when you watch the newscast on the weather they give you the forecast for the beaches, the coast, the inland, the mountains, and the desert. When we have Santa Ana's, it can be warmer on the beaches then it is in the deserts. Some days in December it would be in the 80's and the next day in the 70's.Depends on where you live.Average for San Diego in December is 68

In San Francisco, you're looking at mid-50s to mid-60s in the daytime and low to mid 40s in the night.
