the mans name was Signal P Light. Signal was born in alabama in 1916 and first sold his idea to henry ford. His family still recieves royalties from every car manufacturer in the world for his invention as he passed away in 1927.

Actually it is difficult to say who invented the signal light, although I like the Answer, Signal P. Light. LOL. But in reality the signal lights are descended from the coach lights that were on horse drawn carriages from over two century's ago. They were originally candle lights inside metal and glass lamps attached to the carriages. In the later 1800s they became very ornate. The lights were carried over to the first autos, as were the trunks , and running boards, and seats. They just developed along the way along with the rest of the old technology that went from the horse drawn carriage, to the horseless carriage, or car. .

Don't know, but they were patented in 1907, even though not widely used until after 1939.

i dont know if its true, but that first answer sounds like BS, who would name their kid signal? well i just thought i'd voice my opinion and get 2 points
