It is probably true, simply because people who go to bed early and get up early generally live healthier, more disciplined lifestyles. Still, I cannot live this way, at least not now, because the nightlife is too much of an attraction. I really am a night person....and I often suffer from severe sleep deprivation, which is very unhealthy. Perhaps one day, this will change.

All of us are not forced to got to bed late or get up late. I work diffrent shifts and It's hard to get as much sleep as I want, but it can be done.
A good nights sleep will leaveyou refreshed, and ready for another day at the office. It's just another habit you have to commit to. A good habit.

Well society in Franklin's time was far more rural and they worked from sun up to sun down because of no electricity etc.
That's the body's natural rhythmn to slow down at night when it's dark and you're supposed to go to sleep. However in our rooms we have ipods and tvs, laptops and heaven knows what else, which doesn't give us a good restful sleep.
People can simplify their lives and slow down if they wish to.

I feel that doesn't apply to everyone. I'm just not a morning person and I can't fall asleep early. And I'm doing just fine.
