I have a bunch of old cassettes with music recorder at jam sessions and private parties with various bands from the 70's and 80's. Stuff you just can't find anywhere else. I'd love to transfer them onto cd's. What are my options?

One way is to get your cassette player plugged into the sound card of your computer. For this your sound card must have a "Line in" socket (which they usually have). Connect the headphones socket of your cassette player to the line in of your sound card using an appropriate audio cable.

Get any good audio recording software (e.g. Audiograbber, its free). Open your volume controls, go to options, properties and select recording. In this select Line in.

You can make a lot of settings in audio grabber, and record the songs in any format. Then you can burn your CD.
