I don't get it. Singer trying to portray hard rocker image, tight trousers, silly hat, but they release run of the mill pop songs. Not sure if he is trying to be Steve Tyler or Bonnie Tyler. Their "music" makes me sick, what do you think ???

I hadn't heard of Orson until now. I did a You Tube search and listened to two of their songs. I have to agree with you. Yuck! Worst of all now I have their "Ooo ooo" chorus going through my head.

Orson calling Mork.... When I was younger things seemed to be well defined as far as image was concerned. I remember Richie Blackmore guitar god from deep Purple who formed Rainbow and then sacked the singer because he wore hawaiian shirts and not the leather jacket associated with h.metal, this was after the guy had scored 2 No 1 albums so he wasn't a bad singer, he was ok in the studio but not live onstage. Beach Boys did the same thing virtually with their singer but for different reasons they didn't sack him coz he wrote the music. Then there was this lightweight who covered "pretty Vacant" And of course more recently there was the guy who covered Oasis' "wonderwall which sold loads but it was considered a novelty so image is important. But then again what exactly is credibility? 90% of the time you hear a track on the radio and think wo thats ok and then you find out its a pop idol thing and embarrasment kicks in, but why? Is it more to do with self image rather than the fact that the music sucks - like how could I fall for that? Is it ok to listen to Marylin Manson singing "The birdie song" but not Gareth Gates doing "All Right Now"? The bottom line is that all music is commercial and everyone from Eminem to Oasis or Beyonce to Madonna are products of corporate greed and manipulation every sub-culture is catered for there are so many catagories and pigeon holes whether it is the different types of hip-hop reggea rap or metal rap country rap rock goth-rock metal rock country rock soft rock hip-hop rock Blackpool rock some are more pretentious than others but they have all been promoted and groomed if there is money in supporting a style then they will promote it as the next new wave and 100 clones later they will move on to the next thing. I think that you really ought to think about what it is that is influencing you if it makes you sick. Try enjoying music because of talent rather than because of what they wear - or go listen to live bands and form your own opinions, or wear a blindfold and don't look at them because all bands, singers etc can have great nights or why don't you try listening to Kylie? - nanoo nanoo!

Saw them in Milton Keynes when they supported Robbie Williams on tour. They were really great, lovely to the audience. I really Like "No Tomorrow". I don't pay that much attention to band's images, I prefer to listen to the music.
