His education seems nothing to speak about. I can't find info anywhere....but found all this....
Beck made his radio debut at the age of 13 in Seattle, Washington, and grew up in Sumner, Washington. Beck had won an hour of radio time in a contest, but Beck quickly drew the favor of his new colleagues and was granted a part-time job as a DJ. He hosted Christian radio on Saturday, rock on Sunday and country on weeknights, but lost the job when he failed to complete a shift due to a migraine headache. He has attributed Orson Welles and Johnny Carson with inspiring him to become an entertainer. As a child he wrote to Burbank Studios in an attempt to appear on the Tonight Show.
In the same year he debuted on radio, his mother, an alcoholic, committed suicide by drowning herself in a bay near Tacoma. More family tragedy followed shortly afterward as one of his brothers-in-law committed suicide in Wyoming and another had a fatal heart attack.
Beck experienced success in radio during his 20s and his career grew rapidly. Despite this new financial security, however, he became an alcoholic and a drug addict, even describing himself as "a despicable human being." The addictions culminated in a period of intense unhappiness and the disintegration of his first marriage, which had produced two children. With the help of family and Alcoholics Anonymous he met his current wife Tanya, and later became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (see also www.mormon.org). Beck cites his 18-year-old daughter, Mary (named after Beck's mother), as one of the reasons he was able to pull together. Mary was born with cerebral palsy, which had led doctors to predict she would never walk or feed herself. She has since been able to do both, and ran cross country for her high school. She recently graduated and started college Fall 2006. Glenn and Tanya adopted a boy named Raphe and later, in 2006, Tanya gave birth to a little girl. After some debate they named her Cheyenne Grace Beck.
In late May 2006 Glenn awoke in the middle of the night with severe chest pains. At Tanya's insistence they drove to the Emergency Room where Glenn was professionally diagnosed with "not a heart attack" and "perhaps indigestion".
Glenn's Day
Glenn's work day begins every morning at 7:00. He hits the door at Radio City having already conducted several meetings on cell phone during the hour or so drive from his home in Connecticut. And for the next two hours at the Premiere Radio studio there are more meetings – planning content for both radio and television shows.
His 3-hour radio program begins at 9:00. After the show, Glenn power walks from Radio City in midtown Manhattan to the southern tip of Central Park and the Time Warner Center – home of CNN and the new Glenn Beck television show. But even the walk is as much business as it is pleasure or even exercise. His radio staff in tow, Glenn continues discussing upcoming shows and projects. A bite of lunch grabbed along the way, he plunges into more meetings with the newly created TV staff. Rehearsals and taping for the TV show begin at 3:30. He usually doesn't leave the studio until 6:00 p.m.. If he hurries, he can be back home to his family by 7:00.
The Glenn Beck Program
Main article: Glenn Beck Program
The Glenn Beck Program began in 2000, airing on WFLA in Tampa, Florida, and quickly gained popularity in its afternoon slot. Beck enjoyed a quick rise from local radio to the national spotlight, spurred by the September 11, 2001 attacks. In January 2002, syndicator Premiere Radio Networks launched the show on 47 stations. The show was then moved to "The Big Talker 1210" WPHT in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and is currently available on more than 200 stations.
Beck is often compared to talk-radio hosts like Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and Michael Savage, but this comparison has become increasingly stereotypical, as Beck's show contains less discussion about politics, and more social commentary and humor. Glenn says frequently that he hates politics, and he claims his show now contains "half the politics and twice the comedy." His producer and head writer is Steve "Stu" Burguiere.
The Glenn Beck Program can be heard live on weekdays from 9AM - Noon ET. During this time, fans may call into the show to voice their opinions.
Glenn Beck on Headline News
Main article: Glenn Beck (TV show)
Glenn's Television show began airing in May of 2006. CNN promotes the show as an unconventional look at the news of the day featuring Beck's unique and often amusing perspective on top stories from world events and politics to pop culture and everyday hassles. Like Beck's radio program, the show centers on current events and the opinions of Beck, all delivered in Beck's humorous, self-deprecating style.
Glenn Beck on Headline News airs at 7 p.m. ET daily, replays at 9 p.m. and midnight ET
Political views
On his show, Beck addresses many issues, mostly from a conservative viewpoint. He does not identify himself as a Republican but has largely supported the policies of George W. Bush and the Bush administration.
Beck describes himself as a Mormon with libertarian leanings and a strong sense of "family values." His stated opinions include being pro-life, pro-Iraq War, and against what he views as "political correctness." He is opposed to euthanasia and capital punishment, as well as anti-smoking regulations. He describes himself as "pro-business," and against raising the minimum wage.
Controversial statements
Main article: Controversial statements
Glenn's brand of humor and sarcasm can be offensive to many people. Several of his statements have caused quite a stir. Whether it is calling Michael Berg and some of the Katrina survivors scumbags, chastising the Crocodile Hunter, or publicly hating Michael Moore, Glenn always says what he thinks and feels - even when his thoughts and feelings don't match up. You can be sure that no matter how sensitive, politically incorrect, or sacred current events may be, Glenn will make fun out of them.
Feminine Side
Main article: Feminine side
Glenn has a number of feminine tendencies that have been seen throughout the years. He is an avid admirer of Oprah Winfrey. He admittedly cries at the drop of a hat, sometimes on air. He dresses in a fashion that could be described as flamboyant ( unless you are Elton John). He recently came out as a natural at interior decorating. He is a fan of Broadway musicals and even has a section of Broadway music on his ipod. He is missing a manly interest in sports. His other musical tastes include the stylings of Michael Buble and Britney Spears. He likes Yankee Candles and in the past has purchased scents such as "Home For The Holidays."
Book and magazine
Beck is the author of The Real America: Messages from the Heart and Heartland (ISBN 0743486331). Beck is also the founder and editor of a magazine called Fusion, which is a play on The Glenn Beck Program's motto, "the Fusion of Entertainment and Enlightenment," and is a comedy publication. A recurring item in Fusion is the "future obituary" of a famous person. Those included in this segment so far are Michael Jackson (Vol. 1, Issue 1), J.K. Rowling (Vol. 1, Issue 2), Osama bin Laden (Vol. 1, Issue 3), and Helen Thomas (Vol. 1, Issue 4). Fans who went to the 2005 Glenn Beck: On Ice tour received the first issue.
