Skank is a slang, pejorative term used in the United States to describe an extremely unattractive or promiscuous female. [1] It can also refer to how a woman is dressed. [2] This term is distinct from prostitute in that it usually implies a slovenly or ill-featured woman.
Originally a the term denoting a bad smell or a filthy surface "skank" has come to refer to someone who is physically repugnant for their filth, and figuratively applied to someone who is morally or socially repugnant for their behavior and demeanor, most often sexual conduct.

Skanking (verb, form of Skank) is a dance. Generally performed listening to Ska. Ska... skank. Ska, if you don't know, is a derivative of reggae, popularized by such bands as Sublime and Reel Big Fish. Also well know is Fatboy Slim's "Rockefeller Skank" although most of his other songs do not follow the right beat pattern to be Ska.
The basic movement of the skank is a up - to the down-beat, down - to the up-beat body movement (that's halftime for all you composers and choreographers) with all sorts of variations for the legs and arms.
A Skank (adjective, noun) is something entirely different which i won't even get into.

it is dancing to ska music. it is mostly done in circle-pits at concerts.
a cirlce pit is when people start skanking around in circles.
when you skank you move your arms as if you were running, and kinda kick the air with your legs. it's quite fun.
