I don't want to stereotype, but there are people from certain cultures/ethnicities that are meaner or are blatantly rude, stare, roll their eyes, try to intimidate...does that mean more people are mean to them, or will be mean to them in the future? Will they ever learn that their idea of oppression is a mental idea?

We are- the way we're taught. So if a particular Society deems it "appropriate" to bring up its children in a certain way- then THAT'S the way they'll tend to turn out. Check out the value system of any given Culture- & you'll have a pretty good idea of what those people will tend to be like. As for whether they'll ever change...- don't count on it. Change is experienced, -it can't be "taught"..

I just wanted to add, even if you're the pope someone wants to kill you. I don't believe there is any culture that is meant to be mean but rather one person or group of people's inability or unwillingness to try and understand one another. When people indulge in ignorance conflict will always be the result. Things happen and it's up to people or the individual to try to understand why and attempt to live as best they can knowing what they know.

Throughout the world, only the nice, good people are truly respected. Being 'mean' is not part of anyone's culture. You may see someone be mean right now, but they will mature and will grow out of it. They'll realize being mean will not get you anywhere. Even if you are the don of the mafia, you won't be praised or respected, in fact, lots of people will want to kill you.

why do you think cultures are supposed to be mean ....just because aggression has elimimated entire species of early cave dwellers and genocide has nearly made some races extint? How does karma work on such a large scale?I doubt it sad but true only reason and heart can correct these crimes of pre-humanity.
when education succeeds, instilling virtue in people then
humanity can follow .
