last month i was two weeks late and had what seemed like a normal 5 day period. i blamed the delay on stress. this month it pretty much showed up on time - maybe a couple days late - but it has lasted for 12 days ... still going. i am curious if something similar has happened to anyone else out there. i plan on seeing a doctor regardless if the bleeding stops by the time of my appt.

I want to thank everyone for their responses. I went to the doctor today and she told me I didn't ovulate last month due to the amount of stress I was under ... and because of that my body hasn't been producing estrogen to ovulate. So that's why my period was so long this month ... it's finally letting go of the lining.

Yes, it happened to me. I got to the point where I was bleeding all the time. For me, the Gyn said it was a hormone imbalance (PCOS) and put me on the Pill; both to stop the bleeding and to get me regulated.

I'm happy to see you'll be seeing the doctor to get this fixed.

Good luck. :)

The longest i ever had one last was 7 days, and that was after it was like two weeks late. Totally agree you need to see a doctor asap - it's possible you could have an ectopic pregnancy ( where the sperm & egg get fertilized in the fallopian tube instead of in the uterus) If you are sexually active, you should probably move up that appt. becuz it's not good to let an ectopic pregnancy go untreated for very long, becuz the fertilized egg's cells can't multiply in the fallopian tube (between the ovary and the uterus) because there's not enough room for the fetus to grow. So, there's almost always bleeding problems like there would be if you had a regular miscarriage.

you will desire to've usually happening asking a question like this would carry out some unsavory comments... :) yet once you rather need an answer, then leave faith out of the equation. evolution has much less info as time passes... the medical technique will nevertheless classify it as an theory and may be studied as such. there is an previous proverb that say, 'in the multitude of councilors, there is plenty information'. so while drawing near an theory as super as evolution, we would desire to computer screen info from as many colleges of technological information as a possibility. archaeological info isn't consistent with the present theories of evolution. that's why even the experts are actually not in contract on the subject. and that's additionally why "darwinian" evolution has misplaced some credibility. no rely what we are vulnerable to have self belief in, evolution or creationism, all of us do nicely to place our ideals to the try. the reality is presented and could accept as true with the info accessible. as a edge notice... everyone who says somebody else's ideals are "idiotic" needless to say hasn't executed plenty study themselves.

good idea....didn't mention your age but sounds like dub...dysfunctional uterine bleeding. have you taken a pregnancy test? do you have fever? when is your md appt? if not soon i would go to an ER as 12 days long time for bleeding....esp if you have fever with it. if bleeding mild and painless you could wait for md appt but go by how you are feeling.
