I think Mario should have won. Emmitt has improved indeed in his dancing but Mario was the best dancer of them all. He danced like a pro.
hHave you noticed his Mario's dad? He wasn't speaking at all. His mom was doing all the talking.Wonder if his dad is a mute....

Emmitt Smith won because of Dallas Cowboy fans, plain and simple. Emmitt was not the best dancer on the show, or even the second best dancer. This is exactly why I don't watch these popularity contest shows. The Dallas Cowboys have a rabid, world-wide following. They weren't voting for Emmitt the dancer, they were voting for Emmitt the Dallas Cowboy legend.
The same exact thing would have happened if you had put someone from the New York Yankees on there. You could take the stiffest, worst dancer on the Yankees, put him on the show, and he would have been a runaway winner.
You can't take someone who is basically an international celebrity, with a built-in fan base that is that monstrous and fanatical, and expect to get a fair, impartial result. The producers should have seen that going in. That same machinery took Jerry Rice as far as he got, but the 49'ers fan base and international following is nothing compared to the Cowboys.

It was a contest of who was the best dancer...but turned out to be a contest of popularity. The best dancer did NOT win, and no one can deny that. The judging last night was VERY phoney, it was planned that they tie. Mario danced circles around ALL contestants all season long, the judges were particularly hard on him the entire show, but he was gracious at every turn. Emmitt Smith may be a great ball player, but his dancing paled in camparison...any dancer will tell you that. He did NOT deserve to win by any standard.

I think Emmit was the top dancer. Mario was somwhat cocky and I think he had previous dancing experience. Emmit has a great personality which he showed throughout the contest. He showed he could dance, bringing out the soft side of a hard playing football player. Dallas Cowboy fans had the right to vote for whom they wanted to win, just as Mario's fans did also. They both are winners as they did great dances, but the public decided and I agree with them. And Cheryl is a great teacher, she did win last year with Drew Lachey. Congrats to both couples.

I totally agree with goldwing 1 and Michael H. Mario should've have won HE'S THE BETTER DANCER! I danced for many years and let me tell you, he deserved to win.

yeah ok i guess you're right but mario SO deserved itt...u no what i meaN? i mean did u see his free style?? come on that was AMAZING!!! and all the rest of his other dances were fabulous too! but....emitt also did improve and advance more than mario did so i guess alls well in the end...i still wish mario and karina had won though...oh well....hopefully next year! :)
