Note: the better and newer models such as g5 or notebook laptops. And what do i need if i want to edit videos play music and games without it lagging. What kind of software or hard ware would i need and how much would it cost?

Other than RAM, there's not much you can do to upgrade iMacs or Apple laptops. iMovie, part of iLife bundle, is included free with any new Mac can edit movies but if your into hardcore editing maybe Final Cut Express or Studio (if you can afford it) from Apple will be for you, it's a commercial software. I would recommend upgrading the RAM no matter what your going to use your Mac for, as they usually come with only 512MB of RAM.
