It's quite interesting you asked that question.The people from the Dominican Republic are called Dominicans BUT there is a spanish accent emphasis on the letter "o".There is another country called simply Dominica and the people from there are called Dominicans but there is not strong emphasis on the letter"o".The 2 places The Dominican Republic and the island Of Dominica are both in the caribbean and often mixed up.The island of Dominica is English speaking and much smaller and situated in the windward island bewteen Martinique and Guadeloup,more southerly than the Spanish Speaking Dominica Republic.

Actually you call a person from Dominican Republic Dominicano (M) and Dominicana (F). The reason is because their is a next island in the Caribbean and it is called Dominica and the people there are called Dominicans.
