I have been having missing my periods for 2 or more months at a time for the last 6 years. (I am 19 and started when I was 10, it wasnt always like this.) I have been to tons of doctors and have found nothing to help. Birth controls will regulate, but cause me to gain lots of weight i cant get rid of (10-20 pounds every time). My periods hurt really bad and I have lots of random cramps in my abdomen. I am a newly wed and sex hurts horribly. Any ideas on what to do? Any advice will help. Doctors dont seem to know.

Endometreosis. Intercourse tends to be painful. Can cause irregular periods, and pain in the abdomen. Check out webmd.com or wrongdiagnosis.com to check out further syptoms and remedies. Good luck :)

Obviously periods hurt for some people more than others - Sex however should not - ask to see a OB/GYN and if you have done so - see another. Your periods might stabilize after you have a child but you obviously have more going on then just painful periods you didn't say when you were getting the random cramps but you need to see a REAL specialist - maybe several and though I hate to appear sexist - perhaps a Female? Often many female "problems" are left to continue because a "it can't really be all that bad can it?" mentality exists because men just don't have the same problems and can't empathize. I agree endomitriosis sounds like a great place to start checking.

that is it or for me i do not take birht control to regualte mine which that is the only way i get them if i take birth control if i do not i wont get for months on end and i am fine i had kids and everything OF course the downside on not getting periods is YOU WONT KNOW when you are pregnant which happen to me i was about 5 months pregnant b4 i even knew and the only way i knew was bc i ate pickes and peaches TOGETHER. but other then that i am fine not having a period for long periods of time. The only way you will get them is to have birth control pills that is the only thing that works for me too. I have not found any other solutions yet either. I am in the same boat you are in.

Everyone of you symptoms sounds like Endometriosis except for the lack of bleeding for 2 or more months..When you do bleed is it very heavy?? And I know this sounds gross but do you have a-lot of dark blood? If your answer is yes than I would see another doctor ask about Endometriosis.. Hope this helps
