go to http://www.ccleaner.com for CCleaner its a free program that removes all the recent internet files you have(a reg person gets around 300mb a day) its just like defraging your harddrive

Viruses and spy ware will make your computer run slow. also an excess of amount program is running in the background will slow your computer down considerably. Try downloading this program, run it to see what is running in the background of your system. Turn off everything that's not necessary.

You need to have an antispyware and antivirus installed and scan your pc i suggest Avast pro and Ad-ware se. do a scan and lets see if still slow then you need to download HijackThis , scan your system, post the results here so we can know what is running your computer slow.

run adware remover program and check for trojan virus.Also run checkdisk.exe
