I think it depends on if the one with the posh accent has been taught to speak that way from the moment he/she could learn to speak.
You can't blame people for their accent, whatever acent it is, if it is all they know.
Now when someone has a posh accent that you can't tell of it has been learned in later life,(to get higher up the business-ladder, know what I mean) and they also KNOW what each posh word means.....hm.....THAT I think is cute. (as long as they remember how to speak like they did before, and are not afraid to use it when they're with their old pals, or family. (I truely dislike people who come back to their old neighbourhood and portray a posh attitude, ACK)

Being a Brummie (coming from Birmingham for those who aren't aware what a brummie is) i apparently have the worst accent in england. So I think that it depends on who is talking in a posh accent, Tara Palmer Tompkinson is a hoot for instance, but James Hewitt is just a T**t.

I have such difficulty trying to understand my girfriend's perfect English, as she has a nice but not so pompous accent. Having learned English in The Netherlands, I was given a choice to speak like an American tosser, or like an English ****. Though now I speak like a Scottish git, I still think any British accent is nice. And pomposity.. Well, meet the Dutch.

It just depends who it is for me, if there just posh but nice then fine but those posh folk who speak through their nose while looking down at you so annoy me, the worst posh accent is those who try to think they can speak posh, the 2 bob snob sort.

It's cute. I moved from Cheshire to Manchester last year and my daughters accent has turned into an awful drawl. I'm forever pulling her up on it. I think she will get nowhere in life with a Manchester accent. I don't want her to go through life sounding like Janice Battersby!
