Im at my due date and im extremely uncomfortable. I have walked, i have driven over bumpy roads, ate an entire pineapple and those things did not work. I have an option to be induced but i would rather things move along naturally, im 50% efaced at 2 centimeters, DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO GET THINGS MOVING???? other than intercourse, please dont make me do that one. I dont even want to be touched right now, let alone have the thing that did this to me anywhere near me right now. Please tell me any tricks you might know or you have heard, wives tales or anything, but im not having sex and im not drinking castor oil haha. thanks everyone

Hon, I know what you mean, both of my babies were overdue, and I hate to say it but no amount of ANYTHING worked to get labor going! I tried nipple stimulation, walking, even the dreaded sex, and ended up being induced with both of them anyway. Babies just wait until they are ready! Good luck to you, I hope it happens for you soon.

You're right, you don't want to do the castor oil thing-that is a myth. Basically, there is nothing you can do except for the inducement. Jr. will be making an appearance at any time now. I promise you, there is probably not one woman out there that did not feel the same way you do when they reach this mark. Don't try any tricks, because you might put your baby in danger. I know this advice sucks, but that is the way it is. Good luck to you, Sweetie.

There are some special spots above your ankles that can actually cause labor too early when massaged. Try that, also nipple stimulation might help. However, your doc should give you a week or two before inducing so PRAY. I know how uncomfortable you are but it will be much better if you go on your own. Good luck

Girl, I know how you feel. By the 8th month of both of my pregnancies, I was so uncomfortable and bitchy, I'm surprised my husband didn't run for the hills!

I just went ahead and got induced because I had gestational diabetes and was already technically full term at 38 weeks. The babies tend to be bigger when you have GD.

Anyway, just thought I'd lend you some support, even though I just think induction is the way to go here!

I was at prenatal classes and heard last night that there is pressure points in the feet that can stimulate labour. Ask for a foot massage (a rigorous one). If it works i would really like to know.

Good luck. I am 25 weeks and fear that i will be asking the same question in 15 weeks.

Try taking a warm bath it thins the cervix or unfortunately sex are your best bet. My husband broke my water during intercourse and the baby came later that day. But try a bath if you don't want to have sex.

My wife was supposed to be induced the Friday after she was due, and when they put in the Crevodil(spelling) wafer to help her dilate, she started to have contractions. The doctors and nurses all said that it was quite common. Maybe it will work for you too?

well would you rather continue being pregnant or have sex to get the pregnancy done? If not I had mexican food with alot of hot sauce and viola i was in labor 2 hours later. playing with your nipples can do it too. Good luck in labor and with your new baby!

Try walking up and down a set of stairs repeatedly. It worked for me, although when your that far along it does get tiring so take it easy. Good luck!
