I want to pursue my acting career. I've taken 1 Acting class. I will pursue in my local area of Northern Cal first. But, even if I don't get something. I want to move to Los Angeles because of if being the West Coast scene for TV, and Soaps. Which is what I want to act in. Is it crucial that I get work locally first?

It's not a prequisite, but...think of it this way: if you're not able to break through in the little pond, the chances of your making inroads in the BIG POOL are slim. You say you've taken one class...have you been cast in any shows? Local TV? Commercials? You need to hone your craft before you think about trying to crack the most competitive market there is.

yeah, i think so. you want to establish yourself and having something to point to will be crucial and beneficial to getting a job. the days of being discovered like lana turner at a drugstore are long gone and the competition is pretty intense here..good luck!
