It sounds like early Braxton Hicks contractions, which is the uterus' way of gearing up in preparation for birth. The muscles in your body know all on their own that they have to practice tightening and loosening... pretty amazing process. I think mine started fairly early, but I can't remember exactly when. Definitely before week 35. Particularly with my first pregnancy, I remember having odd and uncomfortable sensations, and I wondered and worried whether everything was okay. Don't hesitate to see your doctor - whatever is going on exactly, your peace of mind is worth A LOT. And if by some chance, something DOES need to be addressed, you will be doing your part to take care of it.

I am 26 weeks pregnant and have been feeling the exact same thing since about week 18.I went to my OB because I was very worried that I was going into pre-term labor. He said that my cervix was fine after checking me and that it was just normal stretching of the uterus making me feel that way.Unless you are getting contraction or bleeding with that feeling then you probably have what I had.

No this is not normal at 22 weeks. It is normal to feel this between 35 and 40 weeks whilst the cervix is getting ready for birth. Head to your doctor or give your hospital or midwife a call.

I would go to the ER right now.....it can be normal and fine but just in case PLEASE go. Do not wait it doesn't hurt to go and nothing be wrong. It is normal to get cramping in pregnancy but at 22 weeks and in your stomach I would not be able to rest without knowing.

I wouldn't worry unless you see blood and also have cramping. Its probably just your uterus getting bigger. Even at 22 wks your uterus is still growing especially if this is your first pregnancy. If you don't see any blood the baby is probably fine. But to ease your mind you can call your ob and just ask.

no and I hope by the time I am answering this you are at the hospital. If it were later in your pregnancy I would say not to worry, but 22 weeks is a dangerous time even for braxton hicks. I hope everything is okay with you and your little one. good luck

You need to call your doctor about i right away. It doesn't sound normal to me and it never happened to me with any of the 3 pregnancy's i went through. When your pregnant there is never a stupid question for your doctor and you are never bothering them no matter what the time is that you call. so CALL

I would have it check out just to be sure I had mine about this time and Dr said I was working too hard and the DR took me off work. I was lifting heavy things all the time. I have no idea why but he also upped my Vitamin B. Sex can also bring them on.
